Can Foggy Head, Elevated ALT And AST Level Be Due To Drinking?
Hi last time I had blood work I had ALT level of 90 and AST level of 137, I am a 29 year old female. Do you think this could be due to drinking? I was on a lot of prescription medication at one point but stopped for a few years. Sometimes I would be so extremely tired or just would feel abnormal and my head would feel foggy this even after stopping the prescriptions and the only thing that seemed to help was running or exercise, could this be because of my liver? I have not had it tested but going again soon, I am just worried that the reason why I feel foggy headed sometimes is because of these elevated levels?
Hello i really appreciate your concern elevated liver enzymes could be related to liver injury like alcoholism Viral hepatitis liver injury fatty liver
Yes chronic alcohol consumption damages the liver and can lead to elevation of liver enzymes And headache could be related to weakness due to liver injury or alcohol withdrawal effect I would advise you to get an ultrasound of liver gall bladder and pancreas to see for liver enlargement or gall stone
meanwhile you should observe complete abstinence of alcohol and smoking have plenty of fluids and fresh juices multivitamin supplements
Hope this helps you best wishes
