Can Fatty Liver Disease Cause Rise In AST And ALT Levels?
My blood work results for my AST (79) and ALT (83) are high... What is next. I do not drink, I exercise and try to be careful of what i eat. I don't understand why my numbers are elevated. I was told it could be fatty -liver disease. Can you cure a fatty liver?
Hi, Thanks for posting in HCM. I understand your concern. Fatty liver can cause increase in liver enzymes AST and ALT levels. Kindly get an ultrasound scan done to confirm the diagnosis. You can take Syrup. Liv 52 everyday. Best way to control its progress is through diet. Consume diet less in fat, easily digestible carbohydrates, moderate protein, rich in antioxidant vitamins, minerals and fibre. You need to do moderate exercise too regularly. Avoid smoking and alcohol. That will help you keep your condition under check. Wish you good health.
