Can Excessive Smoking Affect Eating And Feel Like Throw Up?
My bestfriends been smoking since she was 13 and now she s 18. She constantly smokes every 5 minutes each day and now she has trouble eating and feeling like she needs to throw up. Are cigarettes causing this? I m sure it is but she doesn t believe me. Help please!!
Understanding your concern. As per your query feeling of threw up after eating seems to be due to smoking cigarettes is because of nicotine which is main ingredient in tobacco which has effect on central nervous system and it activates sympathetic nervous system. This causes release of adrenaline from adrenal medulla into blood stream. Adrenaline causes sudden rush in body and increases heart rate and blood pressure. This sudden increase in blood pressure is the cause of nausea and dizziness. I would suggest you to quit smoking as that is the only preventing measure. Start reducing first or start using nicotine patches. Keep chewing sugarless candies or chew-gums. Drink alot fluids and water.
Hope your concern has been resolved.

Best Wishes, Dr. Harry Maheshwari
