Can Elevated BUN/Creatinine Ratio Cause Intense Leg Pains In An Elderly Person?

I am almost 59 years old, caucasion, female with severe nasal allergies, Samter's Triad (nasal polyps, asthma, ASA allergy), and a history of TIAs. My current symptoms are severe leg aches (throughout my legs) with inflammation in the front of the thighs. Also generalized fatigue and occasional body temperature swings from hot to cold. Symptoms have lasted for four weeks now.

Bloodwork before the symptoms showed a BUN of 24 (range 6 to 23) with a Creatinine of 0.67 (range .5 to 1.1), BUN/Creatinine Ratio of 35.8. Glucose was 107 (range 70 to 99) with an HbA1c of 5.8 (reference range
Bloodwork after three weeks with the symptoms showed a BUN of 25 (range 6 to 19) with a Creatinine of 0.8 (range .4 to 1.2) Ratio 31.3, and a Glucose of 111 (range 60 to 110). All other blood chemistries were witinin the normal range including free T3 of 3.01 pg/ml on the latter test. TSH before symptoms was 1.3 (range .35 to 4.5) and after three weeks of symptoms was 2.0 (range unknown).

Is the elevated BUN/Creatinine Ratio causing my intense leg pains which sometimes include stabbing pains into my great toes. This happens usually while at rest, sitting or lying down. Lying on either side makes my legs ache more as compared to lying on my back.

Hi..
The chances of burning feet due to minimal rise in bun/creat ratio is less...
If the problem lies in the joints you should get examined for gout.
Variation of pain with posture indicates a spine issue rather than blood issue..if a spone evaluation is not yet done get it done...
For temporary use take lyrica (pregabalin) which shows very good results with minimal side effects...
If you have any further queries I would be happy to help you..
