Can Drops Used To Heal Hole In Eardrum Lead To Pus Formation And Fungal Infection?
i have a hole in the eardrum in my right ear had seen a doc in 2003 who suggested drops n said that this should heal & told me if any pus arrives u can visit or else it should be ok. so as there was no problem i did believe that every thing is ok. Now its been a month i have pus coming from the same ear n surprised to know that the hole does exist. also i have changed 2 docs who are still not able to figure out why the pus is not stopping now i been suggested a different doc as im told that it is a white fungal infection & he cannot handle my case any more as this is a rare case is this true ?? im zapped n surprised that top hospital doc cannot handle my case.... can u help im worried now im 30 yrs old n have a 1yr old son.
hello. i dont think you have to be worried as this is a very common condition . please ask your doctor to take an ear swab and send it for microbial culture. also, when the infection heals and the hole still persists , then consider getting aan ear surgery called myringoplasty done.you can discuss this with your ENT physician, it will help. thanks
