Hello there,
I understand that you have been diagnosed diabetic for the last 2 years. Control of diabetes can be assessed only by checking blood sugars. So after stopping your medicines did you check? If fasting sugars are less than 100 and after meals it is less than 140 then you can say you are controlled. But whether you can be off medicines or not depends on many factors. There are many patients who are controlled by diet changes and exercise alone but they are the ones who check their sugars once in every 15 days and make sure that once in 3-6 months they get their HbA1c test done. Cause diabetes is a silent disease you may never realise when your sugars begin to climb up again.
So my suggestion is first get your sugars checked and only under supervision of a diabetolgist can you be off medicines if everything is under control. Otherwise uncontrolled sugars can damage your eyes, nerves, and kidneys and increase risk of heart related problems.
Take care.
