Can Delayed Periods When Having Mirena IUD Suggest Pregnancy?
I ve had mirena iud for 4 yrs now and have always had a regular period. I am a wk and a half late and only seen a light pink discharge when wiping or after intercourse. Usually if my period is late a day or two after intercourse it comes. Could I be pregnant?
Yes you can get pregnant while using IUD but it is very rare. This means that it is less than 1 out of every 100 people, even hormonal or non hormonal, have similar failure rate. Spot vaginal discharge during IUD after intercourse can be caused by irritation or other infection. To make sure you should go to see your doctor. Your doctor may need to do ultrasound to see if IUD stay in place and GYN exam to confirm any infection.
Take care. Hope I have answered your question. Let me know if I can assist you further.
Regards,
