Can Delay In Periods Be Avoided By Using Meprate?

hi I had my periods on 28th December. I even consulted doctor weather i am pregnant or not but my reports were negative. My doctor then consulted me to take medicine meprate 10mg twice in a day. According to the medicine i should get my period on 5th day as i have read online but my doctor is saying i will be getting it in next week of taking medicine.Please suggest what is correct thing as i am very confused now.

Thanks for trusting us with your health concern. Withdrawal bleeding is seen 3-7 after the completion of the hormone course. Sometimes, it may also take 10 days. If you do not see a period even after ten days, you have to see a specialist for further management. You need to get a complete hormone assay, a trans-vaginal sonogram to know the status of the pelvic organs, routine blood counts and urinalysis. Further management can be planned accordingly.
