Can Continuous Coughing Cause Any Problem To Brain?

hi doctor, i am couging a lot since last thursday, when i lie down to sleep i begin to cough so cant sleep, but the thing which makes me so afraid and stops me relax is that i am afraid that as i cough very much, can something bad happen in my brain because of the pressure of coughing? thank you so much for your reply.

Hello,

There is no reason to panic about your brain as nothing serious is going to happen from cough.

Coming to this point, I would recommend consulting with your attending physician for a physical exam and performing a chest X ray study, inflammation tests (complete blood count, PCR, ESR) and pulmonary function tests. You may need to take antibiotics or anti-allergy drugs.
