Can Consumption Of Doxycycline Cause Lymph Node Swelling In The Neck And Armpit?

I was recently diagnosed with chlamydia the doctor prescribed me doxycycline to take I ve recently took only two doses so far but after taking the meds I ve recently have gotten a swollen lymph node in my neck and my armpit could this just be a side effect of the doxycycline? Or the underlying cause of something else high blood pressure? Cancer? Etc; please help

I have gone through your query and can understand your concerns..

As per your complain as you are diagnosed with Chlamydia that is a bacterial infection that is generally a sexually transmitted infection for which you are advised Doxycycline..

Well, the swollen lymph nodes or Lymphadenopathy that you are experiencing is not due to side effect of antibiotic intake, rather it is due to infection that has caused infection and inflammation of the lymph nodes leading to enlargement or Lymphadenopathy..

You need not to worry as gradually when the infection will subside with the intake of antibiotics the lymph nodes will also regress in size..
You should continue taking antibiotics as well as can take anti inflammatory painkiller like Ibuprofen..
Do warm compresses over the lymph nodes..
