Can Common Cold Cause False Positive Test Result For HSV Infection?
I ve had Hsv 1 since I was a kid. I went in to get tested for STDs and apparently was blood tested positive for Hsv 2. I haven t had sex for years. Also, at the time of the blood test, I had a cold virus that was spreading around and a cold sore on my lip. Could this have caused a false positive?
