Can Appendectomy Cause Eating And Sleeping Disorder?

MY STEPSON HAD HIS APPENDIX REMOVED LAST FEBRUARY, SINCE THEN WE HAVE SEEN A DECREASE IN HIS EATING AND SLEEPING HABITS. HE HAS ALSO BECOME DEPRESSED & ANXIOUS, AND DOESN'T ALWAYS COMMUNICATE AS CLEARLY AS HE USE TO WHEN SPEAKING. THIS ALL HAS COME ABOUT IN THE LAST 6 MONTHS. CAN HAVING MAJOR SURGERY ALTER YOUR PERSONALITY ?

HI
Thank for asking to HCM
Your query will be highly appreciated, I had gone through the history given here, change in sleeping habit, loss of appetite, may be due to surgery but it is happening on next day of surgery and soon comes to normal, it can not manifest several day after the surgery.
As it is being stated here that patient become depressed and anxious so this may be the cause of what the symptoms patient has but it may not be due to surgery done.
If the condition remains as it is then you will have to discuss this with doctor.
hope this information helps.
