The lesions (abnormal looking spots) in the mouth are non cancerous. The cells and tissue show changes due to inflammation. Foods, tobacco, medications, and, toothpastes can all lead to inflammation in the tissue of the mouth. Not knowing the details of your case I can't speculate on the exact cause.
