Hi Dear,

Welcome to HCM.

Understanding your concern. As per your query you are wondering if alcohol consumption cause persistent cough which is due to chronic lung infection or bronchitis. Condition like asthma and seasonal allergy could also be possible. Alcohol consumption is probably not the reason , but in can worsen the condition by lowering the immunity . I would suggest you to visit pulmonologist once and get it examined. You should go for pulmonary function tests and x-ray chest as well to check exact level of infection. Doctor may prescribe antibiotics along with anti inflammatory , Start treatment only after proper prescription. Drink plenty of water. Take hot milk rich in turmeric as it will boost immunity. You need inhaled bronchodilators and antihistamine drug. You should use mist humidifiers in room. Doctor may also refer you to allergy specialist in asthma type condition . Avoid drinking alcohol .

Hope your concern has been resolved.
