Can A Rash Around The Eyes And Forehead Be A Reaction From Amoxicillin?
I m watching my 3yr old great grand daughter this evening. She was diagnosed with Tonsillitis on Sunday. This evening she has a red blotchy rash around her eyes and forehead. Could she be having a reaction to her Amoxicillin? Or could it be something else? I haven t found any other rash on the rest of her body, but this just started about an hour ago
Hello Dear. Generally rashes due to drug reactions will be generalised all over the body. If the rash is just around eyes and forehead it may be some local allergic rash.
apply some coconut oil in the area of rash. she can take over the counter drug like syrup cetrizine.
If the rash is continuing even after two days, consult your doctor and see if amox has to be stopped and some other drug has to be given.
Hope i have answered your question. Feel free to contact me if you have any more questions. I ll be glad to help you. All the best With warm regards Dr Sanjay Kini
