Hi,I am Dr. Shanthi.E (General & Family Physician). I will be looking into your question and guiding you through the process. Please write your question below.
I have a pacemaker which is was replaced a year ago. From September I have three blackouts. I have seen a pulmonogist.neurologist, and a endocrinologist and still don t have an answer of what is wrong Any suggestions for another direction. My pacemaker was checked last week and functioning fine.
Hello there. Thanks for writing us here. To your query, a pacemaker works well but if you exert or do strenuous work, it could result into decreased blood supply to brain resulting into blackouts. Also I would recommend to have a diet rich in carbohydrates so you have enough glucose in your body so you won't have the episodes of blackouts (provided you're not diabetic. If you are diabetic, reduce your dose of hypoglycemic drugs) Regards Dr Gunjan
