I had a hard lump on the roof of my mouth last week, it was very painful and I had a really sore throat and found it difficult to swallow. The lump has shrunk but the left side of my palette is now very sore and painful, Its throbbing ans slightly swollen and I feel dizzy, tired and have a headache.

Hi..
Welcome to HEALTHCARE MAGIC..

As per your complain a hard lump over the roof of the mouth along with sore throat and pain on swallowing can be an inflamed minor salivary gland or a pyogenic granuloma or an abscess secondary to throat infection..
As it has regressed in size it is a sign of healing but to relieve sore throat and pain treatment has to be done..
You can take antibiotics like Levofloxacin for 5 days.
Take anti-inflammatory painkillers like Ibuprofen for aches and pains
Do warm saline gargles, steam inhalations and use a cool mist vapourizer in your room.
Do gargles with a numbing mouthwash..
Avoid spicy and hard foods.
Take ample of rest..

Hope this information helps..

Thanks and regards..
