Hello thanks for asking from HCM for your health related queries

I can understand your concern. Your wife has epilepsy and was on Torvate (Sodium Valproate) for about 14 years. First of all I'd like to tell you that if she is seizure free since last many years then in my opinion there is no need for medicines. In most cases of epilepsy the drugs are advised to be taken for about 3 years post remission. She has taken the medicine for years so I think she should consult her doctor for reevaluation. At the age of 13 doses of Sodium Valproate were fine but with advised age her doses remained same and I dont think 500 mg per day is sufficient dose for an adult female with epilepsy.

Zenoxa is Oxcarbazapine and the drug is also a safe anti epileptic drug. The drug is good drug which can control the seizures effectively if her seizures are persisting. So you can give her the drugs without any fear. Please give her drugs as per prescribed doses only.

Thanks, I hope this helps you. Take care
