Hi..
Welcome to HEALTHCARE MAGIC..

I have gone through your query and can understand your concerns..

As per your complain Xanax contains active ingredient Alprazolam and it is an anti-anxiety medication..
It is advised to your grand daughter as children are less co-operative during dental treatment and can become anxious and through tantrums during treatment especially extraction.

That is why the dentist has prescribed her to take Xanax before extraction..

The recommended dose is safe and can be given to her ..
Anesthesia given will be local and will only numb the area of extraction as has no problem to be given after Xanax..

Hope this information helps..

Thanks and regards..
