Can Valacyclovir HCL Be Taken After Receiving A Shingrix Shot?
My Wife has been taking an antiviral medicine(Valacyclovir HCL 500mg) because of Shingles. She just got the Shingrix shot, the shingles vaccine pt.1. We can t get an answer on weather she should continue on the antiviral now that she has had the vaccine.

Herpes Zoster Vaccine is –a lyophilized preparation of live attenuated varicella zoster virus -VZV(OKA Strain)
Dose: a single dose of 0.65 ml by SC route in the deltoid region. Antiviral drug (Valacyclovir ) should be discontinued. Antiviral therapy can be given as prophylaxis to individuals at high risk who are ineligible for the vaccine.
