Can Tums Be Taken While On Zantac?
I had been taking pantoprazole for over 5 years because I have Barrett s Esophagus and was worried about the side effects that were happening to me. The doctor agreed to switch me to Pepcid but prescribed a generic of Zantac. I seem to get more acidic reactions after I take it. I want to know if it is safe to take Tums or something else with the Zantac?

Yes, you can use the tums with the Zantac. Zantac and Pepcid can help reducing acid production in the stomach though unfortunately, they are not as strong or effective as the proton pump inhibitors, e.g. Pantoprazole.
