Hi,I am Dr. Santosh Kondekar (Pediatrician). I will be looking into your question and guiding you through the process. Please write your question below.
My daughter diagnosed with TB in 2006, she was a year and a hald old at the time. The whole family was tested but she was the only one positive. At the time she was diagnosed with TB, 3 months prior we were cleaning a house we were about to move into. The house was filthy and required a lot of cleaning. Is there any possibility she could have caught the TB virus from that house due to the filthiness? There was rat poop, cockroach poop and mold (which I found out about a week after I started cleaning this house). Can TB be linked to a filthy environment?
It is possible that tuberculosis spreads via filthy environment and that might increase the patient's coughing ability. Kindly clean the environment as much as you can.
Take care. Hope I have answered your question. Let me know if I can assist you further.
