Can Seroquel Be Taken While Suffering From Dementia?
My mother in-law has dementia, she was currently on Namenda and discontinued because of increased agitation. They now are treating her with Seroquel and she isn t much better. The side effects for the elderly are numerous as well as increased risk for death. We are concerned about her being on this medication, what is your opinion? Thanks, Priscilla

The risk of fatal reactions is reported in elderly people who have dementia; which is as high as about 1.5 - 2 times than usual.
As per the FDA guidelines, I strongly recommend that she should not consume Seroquel any more.
