Can Selegiline And Bupropion Be Taken Together?

My husband was prescribed seligilene and bupoprion to control symptoms of his Parkinson’s Disease. He has been taking this for several weeks. Today at the pharmacy, they said these tow drugs had some serious contraindications. Why would our movement disorder doctor prescribe these if this is the case?

Selegiline is a MAO B inhibitor drug, prescribed to control the symptoms of Parkinson s disease while Bupropion is an antidepressant drug. These drugs are essential to control the progression of Parkinson’s disease.

They have a few side effects but the risks outweigh the benefits. These side-effects are not so serious that warranty stopping of these drugs.

I would advise you to continue with the Medicines as prescribed by your physician and consult him regarding any doubts you have.
