Does Selegiline Increase Appetite?

I have been taking 5 mg oral Selegiline since last October. I switched from a 6mg EMSAM patch which worked quite well. On the oral its seems I started getting hungry at night and have gained 20 pounds after losing 50 before. Can the Selegiline have anything to do with that?

Thank you for your query.
Selegilin is MAO inhibitor used in the treatment of depression,dementia etc.
EMSAM also contains selegiline but in the form of patch.It has certain advantages over oral selegilin like there are no food restrictions to this patch that lead to less adverse events.I did not get reason to shift from patch to oral.Your doctor will tell you the reason well.As far as weight gain is concerned it is less likely because of selegilin.So dont worry about that.
