Hi,
Myteke 4 mg contains montelukast which is a leukotriene receptor antagonist is used to treat chronic asthma, exercise induced
bronchoconstriction,
allergic rhinitis and acted as prophylaxis of chronic asthma etc. Montelukast oral tablet is used for long term treatment. It comes with risks if your daughter doesn't use it as prescribed. If she stops taking the drug suddenly or doesn't take at all, then she increases the risk of more frequent and more
severe asthma attacks. Asthma that is not treated can lead to increased lung damage. Side effects of Myteka are nausea, vomiting,
abdominal pain, diarrhoea, fever, sore throat, earache, flu,
sinus infection, muscle pain, dizziness, dry mouth, allergic reactions etc. It can be safely given orally 4 mg per day as a single dose in children above 6 months of age. Hopefully it is a stomach friendly medication.
Take care. Hope I have answered your questions. Let me know if I can assist you further.
Regards,
Dr. Zubayer Alam, General And Family Physician,
