Hi,I am Dr. Amitkumar Sharma (Internal Medicine Specialist). I will be looking into your question and guiding you through the process. Please write your question below.
I took a Mucinex pill (600 mg guaifenesin extended release), and I am experiencing abdominal pains whenever I do not have the equivalent of a full bottle of water in my system. Pain starts as soon as urine is leaving my system. I took the pill at about 10:00 PM Central time, and I supposedly have to wait until the 12-hour effect is done. Is there any way I could flush it out of my system prematurely?
Hello and thank you to for your question. Abdominal pain and cramping is a common side effect of guaifenesin. There is not much you can do to flush it out of your system except staying well hydrated. Keep drinking water and hopefully you will be feeling better soon Regards
