sir, I was suffering breathing problem in April 2010 when I was in India. That time my doctor advised me to take Montek Lc for 90 days @ 1 tablet per day, but I forget to did the same although I bought the tablets and kept with me till now. Is there any side effect if I start now onwards to complete the course? Waiting for your advice please. Thanks
Thanks for your question on Healthcare Magic. I can understand your concern. Montek LC is having levocetrizine and montelukast. Levocetrizine is antihistamine drug, montelukast is anti allergic drug. So it is beneficial only if your breathlessness is due to allergic asthma. So my suggestion for you is to consult pulmonologist first. If pulmonologist says that you are having allergic asthma then you can take Montek LC. I also don't feel that only Montek LC will help because asthma needs bronchodilators to cure breathlessness. So you might need inhaled bronchodilators (formoterol or salmeterol). So it is advisable to consult pulmonologist first before starting Montek LC. Hope I have solved your query. I will be happy to help you further. Wish you good health. Thanks.
