Can Metoprolol Cause Anxiety?

On Tuesday I was given metoprolol 25mg twice a day for rapid heart palpitations. That next day I got anxiety attack. And I ve been getting one everyday since then. I call my doctor on Friday to tell her my symptoms and she said to stop the medication. Today is Sunday and I m still getting anxiety attacks. Any ideas by when they should be gone since I stop drinking the medicine?

As per your history your problem due to a number of causes besides medicine s so to get a better and confirmed diagnosis do an ECG only which will tell your anxiety is due to pathological causes or non pathological.(Thanks)
