Can Metoprolol Tartrate Be Taken While Suffering From Low BP?

In the past 2 weeks my blood pressure has been 119/72 with pulse 88 the highest one day was 129/83 but pulse was 69. I was told to take half of 25mg of Metropolol Tartrate every day. WIth the b/p low I think it causes dizziness and afraid to take daily so quit. Why should I take it?

General & Family Physician 's  Response
Hi,

As per my clinical experience, an anti hypertensive as Metoprolol should not be consumed with 119/72 BP, otherwise you will have more lowering of BP. I suggest to consult your physician for further doses intake.

Hope I have answered your query.
Let me know if I can assist you further.
