General & Family Physician 's  Response
Hi,
Thanks for posting in HCM.
I understand your concern.
Methadone is an opioid medication. It is used as a pain reliever and as part of drug addiction detoxification and maintenance programs.
The most commonly observed adverse reactions with its use include light headedness, dizziness, sedation, nausea, vomiting and sweating. It does not known to cause memory loss per say.
Some of the side effects that can occur may not need medical attention as the body would adjust to the medicine during treatment and such side effects may go away.
In case any of the symptoms are bothersome, kindly consult your doctor for its evaluation and management.
Hope the information provided would be helpful.
All the best.
