Can Metformin Be Taken During 5th Week Of Pregnancy?
Hi I m 28yrs n pregnant for 2nd child During my first pregnancy doctor hd advised me to take metformin for first trimester as I had pcos. So I took it for first trimester .twice daily. My first pregnancy was perfectly normal Now I m 5wks into my 2nd pregnancy n doc has advised me against taking metformin She said it could harm the foetus s brain development I am confused Pls help

I would suggest you avoid Metformin in pregnancy as it can harm the developing fetus.
There is limited data, regarding studies conducted on women with PCOD using Metformin in their first trimester.
However, It is recommended to not continue Metformin during pregnancy by most medical studies.
