General & Family Physician 's  Response
hi
thank you for asking your concern and welcome to hcm. on one hand you are right combination of these drugs can cause diarrhea but as you said incontinence which does not happen with this. on other hand diarrhea can happen with any of the above drug like metformin, lisinopril, glipizide or sotalol any of these. but diarrhea happens when the these drugs are started that is during initiation and for few days only. as you described above 'lately' i assume you are on these drugs quite long time. incontinence is unlikely to be caused by these drugs but as you are having diabetes it is likely that incontinence is part of disease. this we call as autoimmune involvement of disease which is progression.
i would suggest you check you fasting blood sugar, HbA1c level so that we can get average control of sugars. if it is more than 10 then i think you may need to switch over to insulin injection. i would suggest you to visit your consultant as early as possible.
feel free to ask any further doubt.
regards
dr. abhijit
