Hi,I am Dr. Shanthi.E (General & Family Physician). I will be looking into your question and guiding you through the process. Please write your question below.
Can Losartan, Prednisone And Ranitidine Be Taken Together?
I am frustrated not being able to understand the drug interactions between the meds I am now taking. I m on Losartan-HCTZ 50-12.5 mg. and recently prescribed 10 kg. Prednisone every other day by my ENT. Also Ranitidine 300 mg. to take at bedtime. and today he added Dymista azelastine hydrochloride nasal spray 137 mcg. I need to know what should not mix. Pharmacist on the phone not helpful and my condition is mucosa edema and rhinitis, retention cysts, hypertrophic turbinates, Gerd . What does not mix?
Thanks for your question on Healthcare Magic. I can understand your concern. Take LosartanHCTZ in the morning 30 minutes before breakfast. Take prednisone immediately after breakfast. Take ranitidine tablet 30 minutes before going to bed. Nasal sprays are not having any drug interactions because they act directly on nasal mucosa. So you can take nasal spray according to his advice, no need to worry for drug interactions with nasal spray. Hope I have solved your query. I will be happy to help you further. Wish you good health. Thanks.
