Can Lisinopril Help Control Hypertension?

I m a diabetic and take 5mg of lisinopril a day. My blood pressure has been 150/86. I took another 5mg of lisinopril and I m starting to feel better. I live out in the desert and the nearest emergency room is 100 miles away. Was I smart taking 5 more mg of lisinopril? I will go and see a doctor tomorrow.

Yes, lisinopril is antihypertensive drug and helps in controlling blood pressure.
Lisinopril is angiotensin converting enzyme (ACE) inhibitor. It is first line antihypertensive drug for diabetic patient.
Since your blood pressure was high, increasing lisinopril dose should be recommended in your case. And you are have done exactly same.
So no need to worry for increasing lisinopril dose.
But better to discuss about thistle with yours doctor. He will also agree on increasing lisinopril.
