Can Ketoconazole Be Taken While Suffering From A Kidney Disorder?

I wanted some clarification on the use of Ketoconazole. I have read that a person with liver issues should first consult their doctor before use. Do they mean you should consult your doctor if are using the ketoconazole cream and or pills , or the shampoo as well?? Please clarify

For your health concern, Ketoconazole can be used in people with kidney disease. However, in people with blivet dysfunction, Ketoconazole oral should be avoided and topical should be used with caution.
