Can I Take Prednisone For Allergic Reaction Leading To Red Blotches On Skin?
My 5 year old daugher has red blotches on her stomach and back. I don t know if it s an allergic reaction or something else. She has very bad excema and just started another round of prednisone which she has had before. Should I take her to er of make an appointment in the morning for the pediatrician.
Hello, Thanks for the query, Prednisolone can be used but with special caution. She might have developed acute urticaria. It is an allergic condition. Anything including food, cloth, change in climate, pollens etc can cause urticaria. You need to find out the cause. Treatment can be with oral anti histamines. Steroids like prednisolone are also helpful but cannot be used for long. Please meet a dermatologist for exact diagnosis. Let me know if you have any other doubt. you can ask a direct question to me on this forum, following the below link. http://www.healthcaremagic.com/doctors/dr-rahul-kumar/64818 Wishing you a good health.
