Can Hydroxyzine Be Taken While On Methylprednisolone?

Dr. I am currently taking methylprednisone for spinal stenosis. It comes in a blister pack. I began 3 days ago. However I would like to know if I can take hydroxyzine (Atarax) for itchy scalp. I have had 2 intractable spots of lichen simplex chronicus on my scalp for several years. When my anxiety level goes up I begin picking my scalp. I worry if hydroxyzine is OK to use and if it would interact with Atarax. I also am on bp medication as well as a statin drug, sertraline, and tamsulosin.

Hydroxyzine is a antihistamine and can help in reducing the itching of your scalp. It doesn't have any interaction with methylprednisolone.
And also there doesn't appear to be any major interaction of Hydroxyzine with any of the drugs mentioned above.
I hope the above information helps you. Thanks for writing into healthcaremagic.
