Can Hydroceles Have A Negative Impact On Male Fertility?
I have a communicating hydrocele and suffer from low sperm morphology - tests showed, 8, 4, 2 and 0% normal sperm morphology. We are trying for a baby for a significant period of time. My urologist said that the hydrocele wasn t an issue and that the morphology wasn t a big issue also. All other numbers on the sperm test were well above average. However, I have read some research whereby hydroceles can have a negative impact on male fertility. My Urologist recommended that I shouldn t do the surgery. However this seems to be the only thing appearing on all the tests that we have done so far. Can Hydroceles have a negative impact on male fertility? Is low Morphology a big issue when trying to conceive?
Hydrocele can affect fertility by reducing sperm count. However, sperm morphology is not affected by hydrocele. For conception, only 4% sperms need to have normal morphology. In case of any problem in conception, assisted reproductive techniques can help to achieve conception.
Take care. Hope I have answered your question. Let me know if I can assist you further.
