Can HIV Be Contracted After Contact With Contaminated Food In Mouth?
Hi doctor. today I was gone to dinner in the hotel during the dinner I got burn my upper cavity of the mouth. My question is if the food had hiv possitive blood or any body flood that contains hiv and it touch my burned area can I got hiv from this please help me doc I am very panic
I have gone through your query and can understand your concerns..
As per your complain HIV virus generally spreads if your blood comes in direct contact with the blood of an infected individual or through sexual intercourse due to exposure to infected genital fluids.. But transmission of HIV via saliva contamination is not commonly seen and you need not to worry about getting infected with food that is contaminated with saliva of HIV infected individual.. You need not to worry as chances of infection by this type of exposure has very very negligible chances, rather almost null chances.. You are getting panic unnecesarily and you should simply relax.. But still if you want to confirm, consult an Infectious medicine specialist and get evaluated..
Hope this information helps..
Thanks and regards. Dr.Honey Nandwani Arora.
