General & Family Physician 's  Response
Combiflam contains ibuprofen and paracetamol. It can be used for bringing down fever. Both ibuprofen and paracetamol are anti-pyretic. There is no need to take ibuprofen and paracetamol simultaneously because only paracetamol (Crocin 500 mg) is sufficient to bring down fever. Ibuprofen also causes inflammation of stomach mucosa. Typhoid fever is a disease in which gastrointestinal complications in the form of bowel perforation can occur. So ibuprofen in the form of Combiflam is avoided in such patients.
Advice
1.     Continue Mahacef and Bifilac as suggested
2.     Crocin 500 mg orally if fever occurs
3.     Complete bed rest
4.     Do not take Combiflam for fever
5.     Drink 4 -5 liters of water to keep hydrated
Thanks
