Hi,I am Dr. Amitkumar Sharma (Internal Medicine Specialist). I will be looking into your question and guiding you through the process. Please write your question below.
I took ciproflaxin for two months because I was wearing a catheter and I had some infections. I lost 15 pounds during that time(I ate well) and most of it was muscle. Could the long use of the antibiotic be responsible and what can I do to gain the muscle back? Jack
Hi there, Thanks for using HCM. Ciprofloxacin does not cause weight loss. The weight loss you have could be due to decreased physical activity ( if your mobility was restricted during this period). That might explain the muscle wasting also. You can take protein supplements to regain your muscle mass. I hope that answers your query. Regards.
