Can Ciprofloxacin Cause Irregular Menstrual Cycle?

I had my regular menses on 1st to 5th october, 2014. Because of a typhoid crisis, my doctor gave me ciprofloxacin. I started to take cipro on 16 october. And since october 18 ; I have menses again. Am scared and I wonder if it can be possible side effects of cipro.

Hello
You mentioned that you are taking CIPROFLOXACIN from 16th October and bleeding occurs ( menses ) on 18th ,just after 18 days of period .
Usually this is not due to any side effects of ciprofloxacin , so benefit clearly exceeds risk , so take this drug.
But if there is heavy bleeding ( menses ) and more than 2-3 days either consult your treating physician or consult a gynecologist .
Mild bleeding ( menses 0 may be due to temperature , typhoid , mid cycle bleeding but mild bleeding for 2-3 days is not a cause of concern.
Hope this will help you.
