Can Cerelac Rice Stage 1 Be Given Twice To An Infant?

Hi doctor, my daughter completed 6months of exclusive breastfeeding and has started off with Cerelac Rice Stage 1 yesterday as per our paediatric. We have been advised to feed her 1/2 spoon once a day for 3 days to observe her reaction to the new food. But somehow suddenly I m having the feeling that she needs to eat at night too for sound sleep. I may be wrong because a mother always thinks her is underfed! . Could you please on how to go about increasing solid food in her diet. Thank you

Hi,

Based on the history you have shared if you feel you are not overfeeding and she is not vomiting or no signs of food regurge than you can come time current feed or split it into frequent but small portions to keep stomach filled yet no chance of vomiting or aspiration.

For solid foods gradually soft diets like meshed rice, banana or potato can be given but nothing solid as such should be fed and always crushed well before.

Hope I have answered your query. Let me know if I can assist you further.
