Can Carmicide Be Given For Loss Of Appetite While Suffering From Constipation?
Hi, My daughter is 23 months old . She is not eating anything for the past 2 days. The doctor advised to use Carmicide 3 times a day till the bottle is empty. She also has constipation. is it safe to use Carmicide? will her appetite improve by this ? She had been given Cypon and her appetite improves the next day.
I understand your concern. Carmicide is made of natural active ingredients and is also effective in treating constipation. As for inducing appetite, I would not say it is the best treatment but it does take care of stomach upset such as spasms and acidity. If the loss of appetite is due to stomach problems, then yes, Carmicide will be effective. I do not see any problem in giving it your child and I recommend you also offer her a variety of foods, especially fruit and vegetables, in small portions multiple times per day, as well as making sure she is well hydrated. That should boost her appetite and treat her constipation. This advice is given on the assumption that the child has had a complete check up and the doctor has made sure there is no serious cause for the loss of appetite.
Wishing you good health and all the best
