I took Boniva injections for osteoporosis for several years and decided not to take them anymore last year. I have no reason for doing this and wished I had not.My question is can I go back to receving Boniva injections. I have had Osteoporosis for a long time. I fell last year and broke my hip and after my surgery I felt a pain in my lumbar spine and found out that I had a fracture in my lumbar. My latest Bone density test shows t-score -3.0 My Doctor told me that healing will take 4-5 months. I have read info on Forteo and Prolia. These are suppose to help the bones. The Forteo Information will cost around $4 to5,000 per year and you have togive your self a shot every day for two years. No thank you. The Prolia information does not empress me either.
