Suggest Medication Without Any Side Effects For Osteoporosis

My doctor has just prescribed Boniva after results of my bone density showed osteoporosis, mainly in femur/hip area. My much older sister developed ulcerations on her esophagus after taking Boniva. What osteoporosis medication do you feel is adequate with the least serious side effects?

Hi,

All osteoporosis medications do have their side effects. Now, taking them in the right way is very important. We do highly recommend to take early in the morning with a glass plenty of plain water. For 1 hour should not lay down or eat anything else.

You should not chew up the tablet. You can move around or stay sit, but not to lie down. If you do not follow the instructions properly, you'll end up with side effects like oral ulcerations in the case of your sister.

Hope I have answered your query. Let me know if I can assist you further.

Regards,
Dr. Albana Sejdini,
