General & Family Physician, Dr. Nishad BN's Response
Hi Thank you for asking HCM. I have gone through your query. Claritin (loratadine) and benedryl (diphenhydramine) are both antihistamines used for allergy. Only difference is benedryl has sedating effect also. It is not given as a pain killer or muscle relaxant. These both shouldn't be given together also. You can give ibuprofen (motrin) for muscle/back pain. Hope this may help you. Let me know if anything not clear. Thanks.
