Can Ascoril Flu And AB Phylline Be Given To Babies?
Is it ok to give Ascoril flu & AB Phylline to babies?My baby is 1.3 yrs old & the doctor had prescribed ascoril flu 2.5 ml two times for 7 days & AB Phylline syrup with the same measurement 3 times for cough & cold. I also have one more doubt i have heard Alex P drops has been banned. But one of my pediatricians still prescribes it. Is it true that Alex pediatric drops has been banned?

Alex cough syrup contains dextromethorphan and chlorophenirimine. Dextromethorphan is a cough suppressant and chlorophenirimine is an antihistamine. They are both present in quite a few cough mixtures, neither ingredient has been banned.
Typically, however, dextromethophan is not used in very young children unless the dose has been checked and reduced by a doctor.
