Can Amoxicillin 875 BID Cause Fatigue And Muscle Aches?

I was sick for a couple weeks and after becoming very dizzy, vomiting with severe head congestion I went to the MD. She prescribed Amoxicillin 875 BID. I have been very careful to take with food and am on my third day of treatment. My head feels less congested but the fatigue and muscle aches are killing me. I almost threw up last night and my hands itch like mad. Is this normal? Should I call my MD back or just wait it out...Help. Sincerely, Victoria

General & Family Physician 's  Response
Hi

You may be experiencing allergic reaction to amoxycillin drug.Allergic reactions occur with penicillin group of antibiotics. You can stop the drug and consult your physician inorder to switch to another antibioitic. If itching is excess, antihistamines can be taken at night after food until it resolves.

Hope that was helpful.Let me know if i can assist you further.
